I was very saddened to hear this terrible news from Russia, that the people there must endure. I would almost bet that the studio is shut down, till conditions improve.:(
"Deaths in Moscow have doubled to an average of 700 people a day as the Russian capital is engulfed by poisonous smog from wildfires and a sweltering heat wave, a top health official said Monday"
half of Russia under fire(((

Moscow currently looks worse than São Paulo at summer.
Temperatures reach 36 ºC here at summer, they are having 43 ºC,and they´re not used to extreme heat.
Soon there will be tourists sunbathing on the norwegian beaches. At winter.

Yet, most governments in the world believe there is no such thing as global warming!!!

Australia gets 40+ C days regularly during summer, even in the southern states. Busfires are a part of life here, it's bad to hear this sort of result in moscow. Drought weather has just moved on from down here after about 5+ years. Guess it's the northern hemispheres turn. And the cycles just keep on turning......

The solar system? Our planet maybe... but the sun is currently in a low activity state and only recently was there a CME worth mentioning.
The situation looks horrible in Moscow right now. Hopefully everyone is taking appropriate precautions. We're having a particularly warm summer here too in my area in Canada. The temperature right now is 22c but with 100% humidex they say it feels like 32c and it's just the morning. Another couple of hours and it will be feeling like 40c (no joke). But our air quality is nowhere near as bad with the massive forest fires!

“Global warming on Neptune's (http://www.space.com/neptune/) moon Triton (http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/060510_triton_origin.html) as well as Jupiter (http://www.space.com/jupiter/) and Pluto, and now Mars has some [scientists] scratching their heads over what could possibly be in common with the warming of all these planets ... Could there be something in common with all the planets (http://www.space.com/planets/) in our solar system that might cause them all to warm at the same time?”
Peiser included quotes from recent news articles that take up other aspects of the idea.
“I think it is an intriguing coincidence that warming trends have been observed on a number of very diverse planetary bodies in our solar system,”
Yes, the solar system

Your source is considered a whack job by almost all his peers.
Quote "His views are completely at odds with the mainstream scientific opinion," said Colin Wilson, a planetary physicist at England's Oxford University. And they contradict the extensive evidence presented in the most recent IPCC [Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change] report."
Yes, man is destroying Earth. So is religion though, who will destroy the planet first???

Given the amount of crap we has humans put out in the air there is a good possibility we are contributing to something that may occur naturally.
I live in Los Angeles California and I can assure you we put out tons of CO2 and other bad stuff and we have a tremendous amount of SMOG regulations keeping our output low compared to other countries.
No matter what we are impacting the environment. Is it time to jump on the media hype about being green. No but should we be a bit more careful about how we operate on a daily basis?
The global warning deniers are also a lot of folks that don't believe in science and would rather take the word of religion as being the truth. Science is very real and the Climategate conspiracy has been blown out of the water.
Back OT. In SoCal we get lots of fires as well and the sky can actually be darkened just like what is happening in Russia. Terrible stuff and I certainly hope they can get some weather relief soon.

Maybe...but still all the scientist agree the (other planets) solar system is warming, but they do not know the why for it to be so. I'm sure they will figure it out, after some amount of time...my guess, it is the SUN'S irradiation, duh.

CO2,I would dare to say,it´s the less dangeous gas that comes out from the cars and etc. There is NO2,SO2,CO...
And you said of LA,here when the weather is dry its a real disgrace for people with respiratory diseases.Dry weather and pollution, and sometimes with hot weather, feels like in Iraq when they were setting fire to the petroleum wells.

LOL! I find you guy's hilarious! How you got religion out of Slipball's words is beyond me. You have way more faith in your religion than I in mine, but that's how it goes with so-called atheists! I am impressed at the lengths you go to proselytize!
In the meantime I'll be praying for the fine people of Moscow and in particular our friends at Maddox games and 1C, along with Bullseye and the rest of us crazy freaks.

Yes hitler was a good christian wasnt he :) And i'm not an atheist sorry, I'm more of a rationalist/freethinker, I dont believe in things without proof of which religion would fall into that category. When they actually find evidence to support your superman theory I'll jump on the band wagon, in the meantime as long as no proof exsists Im not going to look like the fool with the imaginary friend, I'm not 10 anymore.

God, man's rational thinking, you are still putting your faith in someone. Without getting into a indepth argument you can neither prove nor disprove the existence of God. Faith, religiously, either way.
I do find it rather ironic, in my experience, that the typical open minded person is quite intolerant of religion.
Getting back on topic, my heart goes out to the people of Moscow.

Actually its not warming, its cooling. And it is natural, humans don't have anything with it (no mater how that can hurt the ego).
That knows everyone who reads books and don't just watch CNN (not to mention loads of free books on the internet). Unfortunately not all the people have hardware to process it.
This winter we will fly BoB-SoW in very, very cold rooms.

The Russians will survive. I am sure. They have one cold war chemical weapon. The purpose of the weapon is to create floods against the invading land army in Russia. This weapon is able to create massive rains, and this rains will stop the fires. But I do not know why they are not using it. I have sent such message to the Russian president on his website, but the fires still go on. Have to talk with Oleg, he have connections in Kremlin.

I can understand the initial topic, about fires around Moscow, as 1C:Maddox studio may be located in Moscow, like people working in it, and they can be suffering the bad consecuences of this disaster (my respects and solidarity with them). Perhaps it might affect the SOW release date we all are eagerly awaiting. I think the first poster had this in mind when he started the thread.
But going into a discussion about Earth Heating or Cooling or even worse, about Religion matters, IMHO is to go too far in "OTness" . Lets keep things in the right place, pls.

I agree, it's just difficult not to react when people take every possible opportunity (even ridiculous ones) to call you names and insult you. It's bloody annoying, but I suppose it's to be expected.
Back on topic: Still talking to my imaginary friend about the problems in Moscow, I hope He helps.

So let me get this right, when the planet cools that is causing the polar ice caps to melt??? My ice maker must be working in reverse because as the temp gets colder in my ice box the water freezes, yet according to your physics when the planet gets cold ice melts. How else you explain the melting ice caps and all the ice sheets breaking off and drifting to see.

Fact is, we don't know sh*t about the climate and the involved processes.
The earth does warm up, newest studies confirm it's 50% man made - but still, the climate could swing the other way whenever it likes.
There is no standard climate on this planet, nor was it ever normal to have both polar caps covered with ice.
Remember "Ötzi"? This guy walked over green passes in 3000m altitude. That was just 8000 years ago.
