First time playing KB and fairly new to turn-based games. Quick question, who do these numbers below the troops represent?

thats how many troops there are in that stack. You have 3 archmages, 9 bowmen, 3 bears, ect. Also, if you look closely, there are other numbers beside those ones. Those numbers represent when they are going to attack/move next. For example, in that picture, the preist have a number 1. This means that it is thier turn. the bowmen have a number 2 beside thier stack size number which means the bowmen will attack next followed by your swordmen, then the enemy thorn hunters.

I had these numbers before in the game, but they have suddenly disappeared. I can get them back if I click ctr, but only as long i click it. How can I make them permanent?
