View Full Version : Play only with fixes

I there, first at all, this is my first time posting in a english forum, so, sorry about mistakes, I'm from Spain.

I want to know, is there is a path that contains all the fixes of the 7.62 high calibre, but without the modifications, I mean, have the game as the original, plus the fixes.

I`m playing rigth now only with the "Unofficial Patch 1.06", and some times kick me out of the game.

Thx and sorry again about mistakes ^^.

The Unofficial Patch 1.06 includes all fixes available, at leat I hope it does:)

The game CTD's if you play more than a couple of hours at once, I usually exit the game once every hour and then load from where I was. If it kicks you out before that you should check the log file created every time the game chrashes, you can find that in the Gamedir\log folder. Look out for the [ERROR] and [WARNING] entries in the log, those are the important ones when troubleshooting.

Ok, i found it and there's a los of "error" and "warning", but i don't know what to do with this, so I play only one hour and restart, thanks for all :P

You could post those warning and error lines here and I would gladly try to help out. That's what I meant from the start, there are a lot of helpful people on this board that can help.

Ok, if you want, no problem for me

Take it and copy/paste here?

Or upload the archive...

I think the best way would be to post the [WARNING ] and [ERROR] lines here, old saves are usually no good since the sporadic CTD's might be from your OS, hardware or dirver settings. Or you could upload the *.log file, it has the best information when troubleshooting.

Good luck in the WC final:)

One thing more, I have to paste all the file, or only with a "warnig" and "error" at the beginning?

Here it is only with that files

Have a lot of them, enough to be bored :P

I can't find any specific errors, but I found a few that I know will cause a CTD, but hose only happens in rare occasions, like this one:"35:21.577 WARNING0 [0] d:\e6\source_for_ger\projecte6\quests\e1p\UserFunc .Inc (429) Couldn't find path to exit place for monster with ID == 53". This happens when the code tells a NPC to exit a sector and by some misfortunate accident his path is blocked. It happens rarely and only when for some reason a civilian or guard blocks the path of the NPC. It's really no biggie and happens very seldom.

Most of the entries are just warnings, and they usually doesn't cause a CTD, but in some cases they do, like the one mentioned above. A few of them are new to me, like the "59:27.037 WARNING1 [0] .\Engine\InverseKinematic.cpp (40 Grad_Left < 0.0f" and the "27:34.865 WARNING1 [0] .\Engine\IKAnimate.cpp (919) Unknown aiming type", but those could be caused by the memory leak and would be fixed by a restart of the game.

If you had a bunch of Error entires I would be more concerned, but in this case I would try limiting the time spent in one go, save, exit, the restart the game and load. Hopefully that will minimize the CTD's.

Hope it helps, and if you come across an Error entry in the log after a CTD, let us know and we'll try to figure out what caused it.

Geralt

Do you want only the error ones?

Normaly, (very ofthen) the game kick me out when a NPC shoot me, but it's not a big deal because the game autosave at the beginning of the battle, and I don`t care, only have to load again :P

The Error entries in the log is the most important ones, yes. They are the most helpful when troubleshooting.

The other CTD you mentioned, the one where shot, happens to alot of people. I can't remember it happening to me, so it might be driver related or some graphic setting you're playing with. Start by turning on or off the blood setting in the options. If that doesn't help, try different settings with the graphic options, you might get lucky.

Geralt
07-08-2010, 09:30 PM
Or turn it off all graphic options :P

I don't care about good graphics, I'm playing old games of spectrum like Dungeon Master, UFO Enemy Unknow, monkey islad etc.

Txk again for all, now I´m go to sleep, It´s late here, and tomorrow I have to get up earlier to go study, tomorrow I paste all of my "error" CTD log.

Here it is more of them
00:00.023 ERROR [0] .\Parser\TextParser.cpp (683) Error parsing : '' found, int expected
03:18.859 ERROR [1] .\Parser\TextParser.cpp (683) Error parsing : 'WillBeHit' found, int expectedThese are very common in the game and doesn't cause any serious problems, and the WillBeHit error only occurs once when the game is newly installed. The other one is a misplaced " that I've tried to find but it still eludes me. But it's not a big issue so i've learned to live with ti.

54:27.690 ERROR [0] .\Quests\E1p\e1pext.cpp (284) Interlocutor not found by GUMID: -1This happens when the engine can't find the INI file for an NPC or the NPC's INI file has been altered in some way. But since you're playing vanilla it's weird for that to happen. I know that this causes a CTD, often when you try to leave the sector where the NPC is located.

02:04.448 ERROR [0] .\Monster\m_general.cpp (5557) !HealingObject
48:33.032 ERROR [0] .\World\Squad.cpp (230) Target deleted. POPing task. These two are new to me, from what I can tell they're prolly a result of the memory leak, but I'm not sure.

Is the game more stable since you started playing in shorter sessions? Or do you still get CTD's as often as before?

Geralt
07-11-2010, 12:52 PM
Yes, for the moment, the game only kick me out when someone shoot me.

I put all the graphics options ON, I want to see If putting it OFF, the game run better or not, So I'm gonna try diferent options to see what happend

I'll keep posting log's here, you are very kind for healping me, Thank's again.

I just remembered that a long time ago there was talk about the stability and the anti-aliasing. The tip was to set it to 2x or lower and that should increase the game stability. Since I've never had any problems with stability I've never known for sure if it works, but it could be worth checking out in your situation.

IceShade

I can say for sure that under Windows 7 64-bit, stability has massively decreased, compared to XP 32.. Even when running XP32 SP3 compatibility, I randomly crash trying to open the map screen, open the radio, after saving (but fortunately not corrupting it)... I think I've pressed F5 more than I've fired bullets.
