Attention: Question about black-out at night time

Hi,

How was done the black-out of the glass on the roof of such manufacture buildings at night time that to protect the visibility from the enimy aircraft?

We should understand just possibility and how it was that to make or not to make it in a sim by the more simple program tool :)

"...Businesses faced even greater difficulties with the introduction of the Blackout. Many factories had glass roofs which had to be painted black meaning that workers had to work day and night under the glare of artificial lights..."

So, it looks like the windows were painted black for a few years.

BTW. I asked my mother a while ago (she lived through the Blitz in Birmingham). She said the blackout was at all times, not just during air raids. Everyone had to either turn light off, make linings for curtains so they would totally keep out the lights, or be in a room that had no windows. Always.

As far I understand those old factory windows they just were painted black or dark blue from insides. I can remember that from my childhood when we were playing in such old abandoned factory buildings.

That is why flash lights were essential to get around town after night fall.

Btw, is it true that all road signs in the countryside were removed as a precaution (with the knowledge of the planed Seeloewe landings) to hinder German troops to find their way?
