How can i join multiplayer?

Hello!

I am completely new to this game. I was playing EE1 and since i have not played any

I want to join men of war to play multiplayer 1v1 2v2 etc, and NOT campaigns. I like head to head war. A friend told me that, i need to get the CD of the game and PLUS i need to pay a monthly fee for the online server. Is that true?

In general: What do i need to buy to go online with men of war?

And also, is man of war popular in multiplayer? Are there many players on-line?

Finally, which expansion you suggest me to get for better multiplayer?

This depends on who you buy it from, editions, etc.

I don't know what you mean by monthly fee. Sounds to me like somebody may be trying to make some extra money.

The game is NOT Pay to Play online :) All you need to do is buy the game and the rest is free.

There are many people that play the game online.

You can either try and find the game in stores(rare) or you can order it from eBay or download it off of Steam.
It's $15 on Steam.
