But where are the North Africa/mediterranean campaigns/missions?
Are they part of a patch? Or mod?
I run 1946. Downloading patc 4.09 right now.

Actually they arent part of either patch nor mod, you can find africa-mto and almost whatever else you want at www.mission4today.com
and skins for atleast most of the flyables are also available there:)

One of the hopes for the SOW series is that one of the early expansion packs will introduce an African/mediterainian theatre with appropriate aircraft. :)
We can only live in hope
Cheers!

Another thing: I just downloaded patches 4.08m and 4.09m. When I tried to run them they wanted to unpack in a strange location (Program Files, on the wrong drive!) so I copied them into a tempfolder and then manually put them into 1946...
But when I run it it still says "4.07m" on the startup!
I'm new to IL1946 and just installed it with the later patches 4.08 and 4.09. Not sure you can just extract and copy across so I followed the instructions on other forums/sites.
After installing the game you first need to install patch 4.08. During the installation you will be prompted to accept the default location. Since yours is installed elsewhere you need to change the location to where the game actually resides on your PC hard drive. Verify 4.08 has installed by running the game and seeing the ver updated in the opening splash screen. Then install patch 4.09 in exactly the same way. Launch the game and it should show Ver 4.09.

Sorry I'm not quite sure why that is, but it sounds as if you should try to re-patch it and just select your IL2 install-folder manually
well Skoshi I hope they will give us Korea first and then something early like Atlantic or Pearl Harbor and Midway or something in that order, that way they would please many of those who preferr the later stages of the war and folks like me who enjoy flying the early stuff ;)
I hope they will go back and forth from early to late and then repeat untill they don't have any more material to use for new planes or theaters 8)
Damn..to late ;)

well then, I'm sorry but I have no idea why that is..
If you can see Norway as a map in the Full Mission Builder you have the content from 4.08m and if you can see SM.79 as a flyable plane you have the content from 4.09m..
if not then I can't help you any further:(

If you are sure that you have pointed to the correct folder, the problem could be that you have said no to overwrite already existing files in the Il2 folder.
The file ''files.sfs'' ,for example, is replaced with each patch.

I didn´t get any prompts!

You're right, the 4.08 .exe selfextractor does not ask whether to overwrite or not.
You said you tried to extract the patch content to a temporary folder, and then move it from there to to your main Il2 folder. If you moved to the correct folder you definitely should get a prompt that some of the files already exists there.
Is it possible that you acidentially extracted or moved the files to one of the subfolders in the Il2 folder?
Can you check if you have these two files in your main Il2 folder:
fb_3do18.sfs
fb_maps14.sfs
They are part of the 4.08 patch.
