Hi there,

does anyone know of a 480/70 GTX review with cryostasis benchmarks? Couldn't find one so far....

Thx!

I have 2 GTX480's pre-ordered and due to arrive on the 12th april. But im not holding my breath. This game didn't run very well with 3 GTX285's or 2 GTX260's in SLI tested on a couple of Core i7 machines on Windows 7 64-bit.

Oddly.. the Cryostasis Demo runs fine...

It's like the completely frakked up the retail version of the game and just didn't bother to patch it back to good health. There was a physx patch but that fixed nothing for the two PC's in my house i tried to run it on.

Very disheartened 1C

Well, my first GTX 480 arrived today. In every game EXCEPT Cryostasis im seeing massive improvements.

For some reason though, when i play Cryostasis im still seeing the FPS drop to 20 quite frequently during cut scenes. Also, if i use vsync the game caps fps at 30.

I tried it with vsync off and i gain around 20 fps.

I would still like to know why the game drops below 30fps during cutscenes with even a monster card like the GTX 480. Did 1C program this game with their eyes closed?

I can play Metro 2033 using DX11 with every gfx setting maxed out and still play the game above 30fps. Why does Cryostasis have to be so broken? The story was very intriguing and the gameplay would have been fine had the game engine not failed so badly. So many random fps drops for no apparant reason.

My review has the Cryostasis tech demo benchmark, comparing a GTX 480 to a GTX 260 CORE 216 55nm SLI setup, and a GTX 480 + GTX 260 CORE 216 55nm for PhysX.

As for the actual game, I get 50-70 FPS when nothing is happening. Close encounters with enemies gets me to 30-40 FPS, same applies to heavy PhysX calculations with no enemies around. If there are lots of PhysX calculations going on, and several enemies on screen, then it brings me down to 25-30 FPS. I run the game maxed out at 1920 x 1080 (including AA/AF). All of this with my GTX 480 overclocked to an 863 mhz core clock, 1725 mhz shader clock, and 1050 mhz memory clock (4200 mhz effective data rate) and a GTX 260 CORE 216 55nm SC dedicated to PhysX (626/1350/1053).
