Failed Mission - I don't know why

I'm playing the campaign about the 5 or 6 level. After 2 turns, I get a failed mission message and I'm asked to restart. The message is something about Inquisitor Deland

What am I doing wrong. Thanks for any help

You need to capture the inquisitor before he runs away. Slow him down with thorns etc and then kill him so that he doesn't gets away
