A lot of games i know have a similar thread on the forum, since i didn't see one here yet i figured i'll make it (hopefully to get stickied?). The idea is that everyone posts things that they would like to see fixed and or changed/added to the game so the developers have a nice list to look at when making a patch.
I will update this post to reflect all the suggestions made.
Requests:
1. Change the instant travel mechanism, the way it works now is that after you finish a mission you get 1 chance to accept a instant travel to the next stage of the main story line. This means that when you decline to repair you then have to spend a relatively long time getting to where you were supposed to be. Suggested fix: Allow a 'elder-scrolls' like mechanism for long range travel, selecting a system from the large map and jumping to there. Another option would be to get a fast travel counter, so that when you decline a fast travel to system X you can still accept it a little bit later (only valid once). IMPACT: High (increases enjoyability by lowering frustration).
2. Typo's, There are a few in the game (a lot less then i expected) but they can be annoying. Suggested fix: ask some native english speakers to look at all the text in the game, i assume they are available as large text documents which makes this possible. IMPACT: Low/medium (Makes the game look more 'finished').
3. Fighter behaviour, personally i would find it nice that if i launch fighters they would automatically be set to 'defend' my mothership. This ensures that none of your friends get accidentily be left behind in a nasty corner of a sector. Impact: Low (just nice to have).
3.b. Fighter behaviour II, stance adjustment. Being able to set fighters to passive (stay within X of mothership), neutral (chase/intercept but never further then Y) or aggressive (how they currently are) will make managing your squad a lot easier (keeping them alive that is). Impact: High (less deaths, less loading means less frustration).
4. Mission editor, allows for custom modding of the game and increases lifetime. Impact: Medium (more lifetime means better fan loyalty i assume).
5. Ship customization, makes the game feel a lot more personal instead of just having 1 out of a major mass produced identical ship (T-Ford anyone?). Impact: Medium
