All thanks for translation to truckpol forum member "The Bandit"

-Hello Igor. Will there be a collector's edition of the game and has the cover design for the box been established?

Yes, there will be a collector's edition. For now, I can tell you the contents of the "gift" package/edition:
*1 DVD game disc
*Instruction Manual
*Metal key chain in the form of a mini big rig
*Trucker's Map

The cover design has been established and was show in the "One Order" video demonstration.

-What will be new in the game in terms of gameplay? Will there be trucks manufactured by Kamaz?

No, there will be no Kamaz trucks in the game since there is only a small number of foreign trucks in the United States.

-Will there be a demo version of the game?

Unfortunately, our resources are limited and we sacrificed releasing a demo for more thorough testing and polishing of the game.

-What problem did the developers run into and what was the reason for the constant release delays?

In essence, there was one problem- the huge size of the game environment. During development, we encountered many technical difficulties which we did not foresee. Creating a virtual California at an almost true-to-life scale turned out to be anything but simple.

-Why was the game not set in Russian territory? Why was America chosen as the game's location?

Both Hard Truck 1 and 2 were set in Russia. This time we decided to show a different world. California is interesting in that the truck driver profession is very popular there, no less than in Russia. In addition, the endless diversity of roads on such a small territory was very attractive. We will undoubtedly return to Russia. The only thing is that we have so many different types of vehicles in Russia and the profession itself is very free-for-all.

-We already know that there will be an addon and a mega pack. We know that the addon will feature Las Vegas... what about the mega pack? How will this mega pack be distributed? Can we count on having multiplayer? Can we expect a more hardcore simulator?

We believe that Rig'n'Roll is hardcore in and of itself, especially on the highest difficulty setting. In addition, many aspects of the game were made to be simpler on purpose. This was done in order to retain playability for players of various skill levels.

We are very interested in a multiplayer. However, we cannot promise that it will be added with the addon.

Detailed information about the mega pack will be made available soon after the release of Rig'n'Roll.

-When will the 'Vehicles' section of the official website be updated?

The official site will be reworked and updated throughout this month. This will affect not only the visual appearance of the site, but it's content as well. Unfortunately, developing the game and updating the site simultaneously is very problematic. In the near future, we plan to update all the major sections of the official site.

-What are your hopes for this game? Would you like to go beyond the Hard Truck series?

It's not out of the question, but for now, we would like to work on something that we are good at and this happens to be quality simulators.

-I understand that Russian game developers are as poor as children in Africa and cannot afford a newer graphics engine, but why do the physics look like they are from a game that's decades old?

I really feel that you should wait until the game is released to form your conclusions. You can almost never tell what quality the game will be once released just by looking at the graphics.

-Will the graphics be better than in the previous games in the series and which engine is used to render them?

Yes, the graphics engine has been completely reworked since the last games in the series. The graphics engine is our own creation.

1) Will firetrucks and ambulances be added with the addon?
2) Is it possible to correct the pedestrian problems before the release?
3) There are rumors going around that there will be various secrets in the game. Can you hint at some of these?
4.) Maybe it's too early to ask this, but are there ideas for Rig'n'Roll? What is the proposed setting for the game? (Russia, Europe, South America)?

The addition of vehicles to the game is quite possible. We will publish information about such major additions.

No, unfortunately, there will be no pedestrians in the game at the time of release. We plan to add them in future addons.

It is best to uncover the secrets for yourself, as you play the game. Otherwise, it won't be interesting at all.

Yes, there are plenty of ideas for Rig'n'Roll 2 and Russia is one of the prospective location.

-Which bands/artists and songs are used in the game?

The game uses a huge variety of original compositions by American artists.

-How do you plan to present the atmosphere and passion of American truckers? Is it possible for the engine to overheat?

Creating the atmosphere was one of our top priorities. You will soon be able to see for yourself, how well we've completed that task.

Yes, it is possible for the engine to overheat.

-http://rignroll.ic.cz/images/mapy/warehouse.jpg In the screenshot we see the game map. Is that the complete map? If it is, the total mileage of the road does not seem to be 2000km, it looks to be only 1000km. If it's not the complete map, when can we see the full map?

This is the full map of the roads. The combined length of all in-game roads is more than 2000km.

-Will fuel last for long distances? Will there be situations in which you will have just enough to reach your destination? Or will installing an extra fuel tank allow you to drive around endlessly to the extent of traveling the half the map's length?

There are plenty of gas stations all over the map. Due to this, a full tank of diesel is guaranteed to last the distance between two neighboring gas stations on one path of travel. If you do not monitor the level of fuel, you will run out and in that case a call to emergency roadside assistance must be placed.

-In the next game in the series will we be able to drive across the entire United States? California doesn't seem enough.

That's debatable. California- the third largest state in the US. It's area is more than 420,000 square kilometers. A territory that size can seem small, only out the window of a high-flying airplane. To drive across the entire state will take a considerable amount of time. It is too early to talk about the next game.

-I have some doubts... in the October 12th video is it still the beta version of the game/map being shown? Incomplete map?

In the very early demo versions of the game, a small segment of the road network is shown. From Oxnard to San Diego. You can see the game map by going to the game's website. Do not forget that video trailers usually do not show the map in its complete detail. Therefore, you only see the major highways.

1) Will songs by the band Aria be featured in the game?
2) Will the game run on a GTX280 graphics card?

*The soundtrack with songs by Aria was left with Hard Truck 2

*Of course it will. The game supports all the latest graphics cards, including the 280GTX.

-How much will the game cost?

About 550 Rubles ($19.60 at current rates) for the regular edition and somewhere in the neighborhood of 900 Rubles ($32 at current rates) for the gift package.

-Will the game be on M-Video? Will it support a resolution of 1400*900?

In regard to «M-Video» and other networks, everything depends on their own initiative. However, you can count on one thing- the game will be in official «1C: Multimedia» stores which are located in almost every large city in Russia.

Yes, that resolution is supported as long as your monitor and video card support it as well.

-Will we be able to play online?

No multiplayer mode will be included in the final release.

1) Please state the recommended system requirements.
2) Were you able to take advantage of all the features of the Logitech G25?
3) Will we have to stop at closed railroad crossings and will there be traffic jams as a result?

Minimum:

Operating System: Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7;
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 2.4 Ghz;
RAM: 1.0GB;
Video Card: class nVidia GeForce 5700 or ATI Radeon X800 with 128MB dedicated memory, compatible with DirectX 9.0;
Hard Drive Space: 10GB free space;
DirectX 9.0c.;
DVD-ROM;
Keyboard and Mouse

Recommended:

Operating System: Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7;
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 3.0Ghz;
RAM: 2.0GB;
Video Card: class nVidia GeForce 8800 or Radeon HD 3870 with 256MB dedicated video memory, DirectX 9.0 compatible
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0 compatible;
Hard Drive Space: 10GB free space;
DirectX 9.0c;
DVD-ROM;
Keyboard; Mouse.
Wheel and pedals

If you are referring to force feedback, the returning of the steering wheel to its starting position, and the use of the clutch pedal, then yes- all these features have been implemented and are very easy to adjust as the player prefers.

No, railroad crossings are open. There will be more than enough traffic jams in the game.

1) Do you plan to release a collector's edition and if so, what will be in it?
2) I heard that there was a change in the vehicles that will be in the game- how much has changed?
3) Will the game run on maximum settings with a system like this: 4GB RAM, GeForce 260GTX, and Intel Core 2 Duo cpu?
4) Will there be a special stand for the game at Igromir 2009?

*Yes, we plan to release a collector's edition. I cannot tell you anything about its contents just yet.

*Yes, there are some changes. Not all the vehicles that we planned to use in the beginning made it into the game. This is due to licensing issues.

*Yes, there will.

-Will the game's engine be unlocked so that users could create mods?

For now, the game engine is too complex for those who are unfamiliar with programming. Whether there will be a simpler method (SDK editor)- we don't know yet.

-What is the maximum number of hours of gameplay allowed by the game?

The game will notify you that you lost only in the case that Nick goes bankrupt, dies, or ends up in jail. In all other cases, you will be able to play for as long as you wish. It is possible that one of your competitors will be victorious and not you. However, that will not keep you from continuing to play. Yes, the player can free play even after finishing the storyline.

-How far will the virtual (in-game) steering wheel turn when using the keyboard? A full 900 degrees or 180-270?

If you are referring to the steering wheel inside the truck's cab, then it is capable of turning only a limited range of degrees. If you are using a steering wheel- such as the Logitech G25, then it will turn to the extent it was designed, in the case of the G25 that is 900 degrees.

-Will the game's release be delayed again? Will the graphics be as bad as they are in cheap games like 18 Wheels of Steel or better? What is the soundtrack? (I liked the songs by Aria in Hard Truck 2)

No, the game's release will not be delayed. Today, it was announced that Rig'n'Roll (Russian version) has gone GOLD. It will be released as planned, on November 27th.

-1C wants you to create a low budget hit? In the video trailer for the game we hear Aria again + everyone is saying the game engine is old + no promo or advertisements about the game even though it is set to be released very shortly. From all this, just one question: how well do you think this "economy class"/low budget Sim will sell?

If you take into account the time and effort put into this project, then it is unlikely that the game can be placed into the low-budget category. Our task- make a worthy continuation of the series.

You may have heard the music of «Aria» only in the older trailers. New videos are being released with a different soundtrack. You will be able to find out more about the game's soundtrack on the official Rig'n'Roll website and TV programs. Such a program will be aired on MTV Russia on November 22nd.

-How is force feedback realized in the game? Will the steering wheel vibrate or provide resistance during collisions or driving onto a curb?

The main effects of force feedback are: the wheel returning itself to the starting position as the driver completes a turn, reaction to collision, reaction to uneven and rough road surface, reaction to the damage on the vehicle, and so on....

-I know the game will be released on the 27th. What are the developers working on now? What do you plan to do after the game's release?

Working on technical support for the game, discussing the details of future addons/games, working on the addon's territory, and today sent off the game to go GOLD!

-About the realism of trucks- has it changed since Hard Truck 2?

Of course. For example, the function of the main systems has been imitated with detail, along with normal operation there is wear, diagnostics of damage, systems affecting one another, and a huge selection of possible upgrades.

-In "Icon of Video games", you said that you had to read gross statistics about truck deliveries. You said that these statistics were provided to you by Arnold Schwarzenegger. Did he provide them to you personally? If so, what else did you talk about?

No, there was no need for an in-person meeting. After all, the game isn't about the governor, but about American truck drivers. We were merely expressing our gratitude to the governor for making the information open to the public.

-Will you be releasing some sort of bonus disk for Rig'n'Roll? If yes, then it would be great if it contained all the music that is in the game... or something else.

Possibly, in the future. This question is currently being discussed among the development team members.

-In your previous interviews, it was mentioned on numerous occasions that the game would support the use of a clutch pedal. Will the fuel economy be affected by the RPM at which the player drives?

Of course. Fuel is used up not because there is a hole in the gas tank, but because the engine is running. Naturally, the rate at which fuel is used up depends on the RPM/speed at which the engine is operating.

-Will there be a storyline that is interwoven in the entire game or is the focus purely on simulation?

The game has quite an impressive storyline. However, this storyline is securely tied to the tradition of free play. The player can choose his/her own path in the game.

-Sergei Babayev told me that there will be navigation units in the game. What are they for? Where can they be purchased?

Yes, there are navigation units in the game. You can purchase one and install it practically at any service station. The unit will help you find your way to the destination of your task. It's hint will be reflected on the windshield.

-Will there be missions that have to do with airports, train stations, ports? Will there be a multiplayer? In the future, do you have plans to make a realistic game set in Moscow or Russia?

Shipping ports can even be seen in some of the screenshots. Therefore, most of what you listed is present in the game.

As stated before, the next game in the series is open for ideas and concepts.

-I've recently watched a gameplay trailer for the game and noticed that the character's hands were not visible on the steering wheel. Why is that? Or can that feature be turned off?

There are three camera modes available within the cab: from the driver's seat, from the passenger's seat, and from the sleeper. In addition, you can regulate the view by using the mouse. It is possible to zoom in and out as well. From all camera modes except "driver's seat" you can observe not only the hands, but Nick's entire character and see him shifting gears.

-I remember you saying in detail that not only will trucks have different sounds, but the sound would be different depending on damage and whether the truck is going up a hill. In the latest trailers I have not noticed this. Was this done on purpose? Or was what you said false?

When a truck is driving down a straight and smooth road at the same speed the engine's RPM does not change. Naturally, the engine sound does not change either.

-It was said that vehicles will experience wear. Will the wear depend on the length of time the vehicle is in use? Also, in other trucking games when you drive at night you can see everything on the sides of the truck as if it is evening at 2AM. Will this be the case in Rig'n'Roll or will it be true night?

First of all, the wear depends on the mileage on the vehicle and how it is driven. For example, if you ride the brakes while going down a hill the brake pads will wear more quickly than under normal use.

-Please rate the behavior model of the vehicles in Rig'n'Roll on a scale of 0 to 100 where 100 represents real world physics.

It's always hard to do a rating like this. The press is used to this, but not developers. We can say in words that the behavior of trucks is realistic to the point that is necessary for the game process... we tried not to ruin the fun with unnecessary complexities of which there are plenty in the real life of a trucker, but at the same time not strip the game to a primitive «gas, brake, reverse and all this using two buttons». In addition, I will say that someone without experience will not be able to control a real life loaded big rig.

-Judging by scenes from some of the videos, vehicles tend to stick to each other when a collision occurs. Has this "bug" been fixed?

I don't know which scenes you are referring to, but on the last stages of testing in which three independent groups of game testers played the game, a large quantity of problems related to the physics of collision were discovered and eliminated.

1) The gauges work, but do they accurately reflect what is happening in the engine?
2) How will loading of the trailers work? Will pre-loaded trailers be parked in a lot from which the player picks them up or will we have to hook up an empty trailer and go load it?
3) Will the driver become fatigued and require sleep/rest?
4) When you are delivering a load will it be like in Hard Truck 2 where you have to beat your competitors to the destination or can you just drive calmly at you own pace?
5)Will the player be able to choose his character or will there just be one standard?

1) The gauges that do work accurately reflect what is happening in the engine within the limits of the physical model (including many untraditional gauges such as the pressure in the main and auxiliary brake lines, temperature of the gearbox, and so on).

2) The trailers in the game are always ready to be transported. All the player needs to do is hook them up and set out to the destination. The hooking up takes place either in a warehouse/base or at some other location depending on the mission.

3)No, sleep is realized not as a requirement, but as a possibility to advance time and wait until the weather becomes more favorable.

4)Loads will be divided into two types: regular and competition. In the first case, you will simply have to make it to the destination in the alloted time. In the latter, you will have to compete with rivals.

5)There is one character assigned to the player- Nick Perepelov. Russian trucker who comes to America to organize his own trucking business.

-Will there be random occurrences on roads including traffic jams and accidents? Will it be possible to get a flat tire? Do the parts of the truck experience wear?

In California, traffic jams are an unavoidable evil. Unfortunately, as everywhere else, accidents are also not a rarity. Systems of wear and break downs are very detailed so that on high difficulty settings you will have to make frequent trips to the service station to diagnose the status of the truck and repair.

It is very easy to get a flat tire.
