Now here's the chance for the WW 2 aircraft buffs to make a wish list for what they'd like to see in DLC additions for IL-2 BOP in future.

The rule is that it has to consist of aircraft that were involved in the European airwar and was actually in service, not prototypes or variants that never made it into production.

My wish list is as follows:

London at night during the Blitz.... that would mean the need for the HUrricane II C with cannons in nightfighter guise, an all black Defiant "Steel Bat" (as the Luftwaffe called it), Beaufighter and Blenhiem IV night fighters.

Musn't forget Ju-88 night fighters and Luftwaffe night fighter variants.

As for the Welligton, would other players complain that it is next to impossible to shoot down??

"Aw c'mon.... how can it still fly without most of one wing and no tail, eh??"

As many people that already complain about the B-17? You want the Lancaster?

The lancaster is far superior to the B-17. It has like a 40,000 pound payload I think.

@mattmanB182: She could carry a payload of 22,000 lbs. but ofcourse they had to make modifications to her to fit it in. But yes she could carry the heaviest weapons in her time ;)

imagine is the key word for me, only been able to play strike once and everyone was fighter/bombers, dying to see b17!

maybe a bigger spread on targets in strike if that's an issue, I'd love to see a bombing raid of 3+ Lancaster turn some German factories into dust!

I just flew the warhawk in Targetware beta today, it's a great little plane, maneuvers well even on targetware's unforgiving model. The p-39 is good too. I don't like the p-38 at all.

The Beaufighter is useless except as an attack plane but it should be in the game too

ok for more heavy bombers to be added, but they should be either banned or very limited from strike mode. If a heavy bomber gets to start that close to the target, it's pretty much game over already

How about a multiplayer strike map AT NIGHT, with DLC being the missions and the avro lancaster and de havilland mosquito.

The idea is the mosquito is the pathfinder and has to use flares etc to light up the target, and the lanc can come in and drop all its ordanance on the target.

In their we have some BF110 night fighters :D

That would be fun.

Wow a P-38 Lightning would be so fun in this game.
I think it gets my top vote!

The thing had a nullified gyroscopic effect due to the counter-rotating props. In realistic/sim, you'd never have to trim ailerons/rudder and if you were pulling up REAL hard (with level wings, albeit), you'd never enter an accelerated stall.

Plus stall turns in sim, you'd easily be able to pull off with no scare of spinning out of control due to torque.

luftwaffe lost battle of britain:french air force destroyed 1000 germans planes(with help of raf)in 1939-1940:the famous german ace w.molders was shot down by a french lieutnant d520 pilot,maybe ours ms406 or bloch151 are not very good but germans pilots don't show off when they meet d520!!!

I couldn't find a pic with French Markings. But that's a French plane for sure. I wouldn't mind flying it, even though it may not be the most maneuverable plane. But it's well armed.

yes ,the c714(caudron-renault c714 cyclone)is a french plane
this plane was not very good :a lot of crash because of technicals problems and french air force forbid the fly of all the c714 but with the war the c714s go to fight with the poland pilots during the battle of france(figther group1/145 "varsovie")
the c714 had 4 machine-guns mac of 7,5 mm
max speed at 5000 meters:460kms/hours
i thinks pilots were very courageous to fly in this plane!!!!!

I would like to see the gunpods of the 109 G6 and K4 become optional.
Been playing some Il-2 PC again, and I just love the G6 and its 30mm nosecannon. In BOP however, with the added gunpods, the plane flies slow and ungentle. The ability to remove the gunpods seems easy to me (but I have no idea about developing). For me it would add two more planes in a heartbeat. (after all that needs to be done is fix the acceleration of the 109's and the damage of the F-4 , G-2 armament :P).

sigh, getting soooo tired of waiting for patch and/or DLC

Anyways, I'd like to add, the apart from the gunpods... the planes I would like to see in BOP, are the ones already in there, but then with the correct performance.

I think the most popular planes are in BOP now, but one third is actually flyable/ has the performance it should have. Like the FW190, like to fly that one, so I want to see that one in BOP. It is there, but apart from the visual model, it has nothing to do with a FW190.

same go's for bf109's.. they cant outrun/outclimb anything. P51's, Mc202, P47, Ta. Just fixing their performance would add 12 planes you could then use to COMPETE in a dogfight.

Im getting into the 109's lately (f4, G2, G10), just not to be flying the mainstream planes all the time (and they look nice :)). But after using the G-10, and then testing in training, i found out it flies exactly as fast as a spitfire, and the G-2 (it should have about 30kp/h more, and a 30mm nosecannon instead of 20mm). Knowing that and that the G-10 turns worse than the G-2 and spit.this takes away any reason you would have to pick it.

^^ this kind of go's for all 109's. they are nerfed so badly, that there is no real reason to pick them other then 'i like the looks'. (thus scraping 5 planes of the plane list)
