View Full Version : New IL2 user; Xbox 360 dissapointment.

Greetings folks!

I should say that I've been simming for quite some time. I started in 1986 with FS2 and have been flying that and Falcon ever since.

I picked up IL2:BOP today for the Xbox 360. My brother loves the PC game and thought this would be cool to fly together. If we can get my other brothers to play that would be awesome.

I fired it up and was very impressed. Until I had to control the bird.

The controls are wrong. My goodness! Did someone mess up? The aileron and pitch needs to be on the right stick.

I've tried and tried and still cannot fly this sim. Does anyone know if the developers are going to fix this?

There is a patch that is going to address the control config. I dont know if your specific problem is going to be addressed, but there is a dev forum that might get your question answered a little quicker. Info on the update is stickied at the top.

Well MattM1121, since axhat was nice enough to give you a very prompt and accurate answer, and the fact that you have over 20 years of experience dogfighting, making you probably an exceptional Ace…when you find yourself rolling in on axhat’s six, hold your guns, give him a wave and fly by…that’s the least you could…;)

But seriously, you will find a very decent, “elite” crowd of people involved in Birds of Pray that are very knowledgeable and always ready to help out his fellow pilot.

I do believe you will be able to swap sticks on the controller when the new patch comes out…many RC guys have complained about that.

I hope you have many happy dogfights online with your brothers.

Or you could get a flight stick and swap that problem for a host of others lol.

I had a similar problem crossing over from Battlefield 1943 to BoP - that has the sticks the other way around. Give it a week or two and you can condition yourself so it's not a problem. Then the patch will come out and you'll be back to square one :)
