So i am kinda new to online play with bombers any way I can stay alive long enough to drop my bombs and possible shoot down other planes. Just in general for most bomber like heinkel b-17 and blenheim

Fly high. The higher you are the harder you are to spot, as most people play in the 5k feet height range. Also dont go straight at the target, try coming in at funny angles. This puts off the enemy as they expect you to come steaming in on the same vector time and again.

Like said, Fly high, by the time they see you, they will have to struggle to get up there to you. If they do get on you, turn to try to keep them on your six, (unlike dog fighting) so you can keep your tail gunner busy. The B-17 has gunners on the waist, belly and top turrett too, so it is well protected, BUT, BOP built in a couple blind spots that dont exsist on the real plane. I assume to make them more fair. The B-17 blind spots that seem to be vunerable are the 4/5 oclock, and the 7/8 oclock positions, so if they get on those spots, just turn a little so your gunners can reach them. In saying that, I hope I didn't just give away a weakness to MY foe, lol. They will try to stay off your six, and it will keep them busier trying to avoid your gunner. If they get on my six, I try to dive to get below their straff and that seems to help. Stay on it, until you go into a slight dive to line up your target. Start turning early in the bigger bombers, because if you wait too long to line up the target, you will have to lay it way over to get to it, and by the time you do get to it, you would have overflown it and have to turn around for another attempt. Also, try to buddy up with a fighter. I play with a team of friends, and I typically fly with a fighter escort. Helps tremendously.

If you feel yourself getting constantly hit, your rear gunner is probably failing. It's more important you take control of the gunner and stop the other plane then you keep trying to drop your bombs, chances are you won't make it, as it will only be a few seconds before a good fighter pilot will find your engines.
As it's already been said, stay high and out of sight, most fighters will just lock on to the first thing they see.
