How can i use a usb game control in Cryostasis??

I just bought a usb game control for my computer. i have been playing with a mouse and keyboard and it is getting annoying sitting so close to the screen. i tried to set the control up in the control tab in the settings menu but i only get settings for keyboard and mouse and thats it. i have my control plugged in and i know it works for a fact, but i get no options. Can anyone tell me how to make this work, or if it is even possible?? :confused:

I've only played the game for like five minutes and am only on here to figure out a problem myself but as I was looking down the threads it looked like USB controllers were not supported. I could be wrong.
